Hoover High School Fall Sports Information (2026-27) Fall sports tryouts/practices for the 2026-27 school year officially begin on Saturday, August 1st (Golf - 7/29). Official OHSAA sports dates may be found here: Future OHSAA Sports Dates Sports Registration (Final Forms) Final Forms for Athletics All student-athletes MUST have Final Forms completed (both academic and athletic) in order to participate.  Plan to complete these forms in mid-July when Final Forms rolls over to the new school year. Sports Physicals All student-athletes MUST have a current, updated physical prior to fall sports tryouts. Physicals are “current” for 13 months from the examination date.   You can check physical exam status in Final Forms. https://northcanton-oh.finalforms.com/ OHSAA Physical Exam Forms can be found on the OHSAA website here: preparticipation physical evaluation | 2026-27 Please check the Physical Exam Forms for completion.  Both the “PHYSICAL EVALUATION FORM” and “MEDICAL ELIGIBILITY FORM” must be signed and dated by your healthcare provider otherwise, they are not complete. Uploading Sports Physicals to Final Forms ** Preferred method of submission The Athletic Office is transitioning to paperless physical exam documents and will phase out paper copies in the future.  Physicals may be uploaded to Final Forms or turned into the Hoover Athletic Office.  See upload instructions here: How to Upload Physicals to Final Forms. Please do not give any of your paperwork to a coach or trainer. Academic Eligibility In order to be eligible to participate in fall sports athletic competitions starting next school year, student-athletes must keep grades in good standing for the current fourth nine weeks (2026-27 school year).  The following information is from the “Student Eligibility Guide for Interscholastic Athletic Participation in High School” on the OHSAA website (OHSAA Eligibility Guide) In order to be eligible for the first grading period upon entrance into grade 9, you must have received passing grades in a minimum of four (4) classes in the immediately preceding grading period. In order to maintain eligibility for grades 9-12, you must have received passing grades in a minimum of five (5) one credit courses, or the equivalent, in the immediately preceding grading period. Save the Date! Fall Sports Preseason Student-Athlete/Parent Meeting - Monday, July 27, 2026 at 6:30 PM (Hoover HS Main Gym) Attendance is a requirement by the OHSAA.  Student-athletes/Parents in multiple sports only need to attend one meeting during their first sport of the school year. Athletic Office Summer Hours (subject to change!) June 15th - June 30th: Tuesdays, 10:00 AM – Noon July 30th: Regular office hours resume 8:00AM - 2:30PM Please enter Hoover HS at Door #1 and the Athletic Office will be on your right side as you enter the building. If the office is closed, you may place documents/physical exams through the vestibule window slot inside Door #1 (far right corner). Please enclose documents in a sealed envelope labeled with the student’s name. Alternatively, we encourage and prefer uploading physical exams to Final Forms! Stay Informed!
