Hoover Varsity Boys Tennis Team Highlights:

The boys varsity tennis team has had an amazing year so far and hopes to finish strong!
The team has a duel match record of 18-3 and was 5-1  in the Federal League with their only loses to state powerhouses Jackson, St. Ignatius, and Solon.
(4) players Matt Warburton, Jacob Wood, Brock Meadows, and Robert Crawford came out of sectionals and qualified for the Northeast District Tennis Championship.
Thus far the team has had many honors. All seven starters received All Federal League recognition.  Matt Warburton and Jacob Wood were first team singles selections. Matt was unanimously name as the Federal League Player of the Year.
All seven players were honored on May 14th, 2019 by the Stark County Tennis Coaches Association as All County Selections.
Matt Warburton had a season record of 30-2 and Jacob Wood had a record of 31-2. Matt and Jacob were unanimously first team selections as were Brock Meadows and Robert Crawford for doubles. Matt was also unanimously elected as the Stark County Player of the Year.
The team hopes to do well with all 4 qualifiers having a chance to participate in the 100th OHSAA Boys State Tournament.
